On Thursday, our April Story Time was in full bloom despite the thunderstorm outside! Librarian Taylor got us ready for the Woodbine Crawfish Festival by reading Three Little Shrimp using a plethora of character voices!
Then it was time to celebrate garden month! I read In Our Garden by Pat Zietlow Miller. about a little girl who inspired her school to grow a garden on the roof. It’s a must read! The mixed media illustrations by Melissa Crowton were the perfect accompaniment to the story. After the reading was over, I gifted a hardcover copy of the book to each child who attended and one copy to the library!
The librarians at Woodbine Public Library knocked it out of the park by gifting the kids packets of wildflower seeds and two take & make window garden kits with cilantro & pea seeds! Thank you, ladies!! The kids are so lucky to have you. My daughter and I especially loved the wildflower seeds – we planted some in a planter. They were beautiful!
I sure do love our monthly story times in the community. Definitely check out all the fabulous new children’s books at the Woodbine Public Library when you can!
